For the first time in the music festival's three-year history, Timbre Rock & Roots has joined hands with Yahoo! Southeast Asia to discover the next generation of musical talent in Asia.

Yahoo!, together with Timbre, has shortlisted up and coming bands from Philippines and will run an online voting contest to decide which band performs at this year's event.  By mid-March, one winning band will be flown to Singapore to perform alongside the headliners at Timbre Rock & Roots 2012.

Timbre Rock and Roots music festival will be held at Marina Promenade on 30 and 31 March 2012.  The annual music event in Singapore has attracted crowds of almost 10,000 people in previous years where acts included the likes of Bob Dylan and John Legend.

The line up this year includes Jay-Z's Roc Nation "gansta-rocker" Hugo, Malaysia's Dasha Logan, and Singapore's very own Goodfellas.
